GENERAL - EVERY ROOM
Declutter all surfaces: worktops, tables, shelves and windowsills should be as clear as possible.
• Put away everyday items: remote controls, chargers, phone cables, mail, keys, toys, games, coats and shoes by the door, bags, backpacks and shopping bags.
• Clear paperwork, letters, bills and documents from view, window sills where possible.
• Remove excess ornaments and decorative items.
• Remove bins, laundry baskets and clothes airers from view.
• Hoover and mop all floors; wipe down skirting boards if dusty.
• Dust visible surfaces, light fixtures and windowsills.
• Clean windows and mirrors — streaks and smudges show up clearly in photos.
• Open all curtains and blinds fully to let in natural light.
• Turn on all lamps and ceiling lights, even during the day — replace any dead bulbs beforehand.
• Straighten furniture so it's parallel with walls; remove any extra chairs, footstools or clutter that crowd a room.
• Tuck away rugs that are worn, curled at the edges, or clash with the space.
• Hide or remove obvious cables and cord clutter (TV, chargers, extension leads).
• Set thermostats/displays to a neutral, non-distracting reading if visible.
• Remove anything particularly personal that you don't want shown in the listing.
Your home doesn't need to be perfect.
It needs to feel clean, spacious, bright and inviting. Professional photography can show a property at its best, but the more prepared the home is before the camera arrives, the stronger the final images will be.
If you're unsure whether something should stay or be put away.
Don't worry, I can make small adjustments during the shoot where possible.

The magic of pure form.
Just a few products and toothbrushes left out in the open are enough
to disrupt the harmony and distract from the design.
